A Mission Accomplished

On October 3, 2025, when the Gospel Music Association opened the doors of the Museum of Christian & Gospel Music, I knew we were standing on holy ground.

At last, there is a physical place to honor our GMA Hall of Fame inductees, to tell the stories of today’s artists and songwriters, and to create meaningful, impactful programming. Because of faithful financial partners, dedicated boards members, contractors, designers, and consultants, we now have a vibrant space in the heart of Music City where the Gospel is proclaimed through music, story, and experience.

Since 1964, the mission of the Gospel Music Association and GMA Foundation has been to Expose, Promote, and Celebrate the Gospel through Music. Many know us through the Dove Awards, an annual broadcast reaching millions around the world. It remains the only stage that is both multicultural and multi-generational, representing every style of Christian and Gospel music. Beyond excellence in production, the Dove Awards has always been, at its core, an evangelistic platform.

The Museum of Christian & Gospel Music carries that same mission forward in a deeply personal way.

Every visitor who walks through our doors doesn’t just observe history—they experience it. They encounter the songs, voices, and stories that have shaped their faith journeys. But even more than that, we have intentionally created an atmosphere that reflects the presence of God. This is more than a museum—it is a sacred space.

Here, the next generation is inspired by artists who have faithfully answered the call to ministry through music. Families share stories of songs that carried them through life’s hardest moments. Others rediscover the soundtrack of their lives—songs that strengthened their faith in seasons of joy and sorrow.
